DR JOHN KEARNEY

Dr Kearney is the founding principal of the Gold Coast Eye Clinic which began in 1984. He is participating in the development of both Griffith and Bond university medical schools where he is Clinical Associate Professor.

Since graduation from the University of Melbourne with honours in surgery, leading opthalmologist Dr John Kearney has worked extensively throughout Australia and oveseas.

In addition to the specialist sevices he provides at the Gold Coast Eye Clinic, Dr Kearney is committed to helping patients in disadvantaged and Third World communities.  As a member of the Mercy Ships and the Pacific Island Projects, he has travelled extensively performing cataract and other surgery, giving lectures and assisting with skills transfers.

Additionally, he has worked with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health services on the Gold Coast and in Western Australia and the Northern Terriotory as part of the National Trachmoa and Eye Health Program established by Dr Fred Hollows, as well as taking part in the Dili (East Timor) Eye Clinic with the International Red Cross and World Health Organisation.

Away from theatre, Dr Kearney enjoys sailing and ballroom dancing.


DR MONTGOMERY

Dr Montgomery joined The Gold Coast Eye Clinic in 2004. He has been working on the Gold Coast since 2000.  He is originally from New Zealand, where he completed most of his studies.  After graduating from Otago University in 1986 he travelled overseas where he underwent sub-speciality training for three years at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Manchester Royal Hospital in the UK.  He then moved on to Montreal, Canada . He specializes in eyelid and tear duct surgery, ocular (skin repair) plastics, orbital surgery, eyelid tumours, thyroid related eye diseases, Endonasal DCR for blocked tear ducts and the management of ptosis (droopy eyes).

Dr Montgomery attends our Mermaid Beach clinic every Friday.

Dr Montgomery's special interests include palying golf and spending time with his family.


DR WEI

Dr Marc Wei graduated from the University of Queensland in 1989.

Dr Wei has been with the Gold Coast Eye Clinic ffor two years.  He attends both our Southport clinic on Monday's and our Helensvale clinic on Wednesday's (located at Westfield Shopping Centre).  He specialises in cataract, glaucoma, laser and Lasik surgeries.



 

 

 

 

 

DR LIVINGSTONE

Dr Livingstone has been working at The Gold Coast Eye Clinic for the past four years. She comes up from her practice in Sydney once a month. She specializes in cosmetic surgery and botox.

Dr Livingstone is a member and fellow of numerous professional asociations in Australia and overseas.

Dr Livingstone's interests include sailing, reading and travelling.


 

DR VANDELEUR

Our senior Opthalmologist who has extensive experience and training in retinal disease and medical reports. He has extensive experience in all aspects of opthalmology.
