Minor Surgery and Recovery
This may require a few hours of hospital day surgery. Patching for a few hours or overnight drops and ointment may be required for appropriate and timely healing. "Patching" is the wearing of an eye pad and protective shield.
Such as cataract surgery requiring an anaesthetic, will require fasting for 6 to 8 hours prior and several post-operative visits. Note that all patients requiring any surgery should have someone to collect them, and, in the case of major surgery, spend the night with them. This is done in case of the unlikely event of post-operative issues or drowsiness from the anaesthetic.
