Minor surgery - may require a few
hours in the hospital day surgery, patching for a
few hours, or overnight drops and ointment.
('Patching'
is the wearing of an eye pad and protective shield.)
Major
Surgery - such as Cataract Surgery, requiring
an anaesthetist will require fasting for 6-8 hours
prior and several post-operative visits.
Please
note: All patients requiring surgery should have someone
to collect them; and in the case of major surgery,
spend the night with them. This is in case of the
unlikely event of post-operative issues or drowsiness
from the anaesthetic.
